What to expect

Gentle and respectful, I tune in and listen to my client's body. This sensitive approach is safe and can be adapted to any age and for any condition. 

In treatment, I use light-touch contact to feel and engage with patterns in the body. At times, I work off the body, which is equally effective and helpful for some people. Patterns express as pulls, twists, restrictions, tension, compression, congestion, holding, and lesions. I trace these patterns to their physical or emotional source, facilitate release and support the body in its subsequent re-organisation and integration. CST can also invite fascial tissue to unwind and release held tension, often appreciated by the neck and shoulders.

Most patients feel deeply relaxed during treatment. Responses are highly individual, but it is normal to feel fleeting sensations of tingling, buzzing, heat, cold, heaviness, numbness, or experience muscle twitching and a sense of wanting to move through patterns of fascial unwinding. Sometimes, vivid memories, smells, and sounds come to mind, prompting emotional releases.

After treatment, many experience coming out of a profoundly relaxed state, and others experience emotional releases. Most feel tired and drained and report deep sleep. It may take a few days for the effects of a treatment to 'filter' through, and most people report feeling looser, more open, relaxed, and energised.
